The Order Sons of Italy in America is the oldest and largest organization of Italian Americans in the United States. www.osia.org The organization has over 650 chapters throughout the country. The Mia Maria chapter was founded in Cheyenne, Wyoming, in 2005, and the first community booce bash was held in 2006. Since then, funds raised from the Bocce Bash has been given to various charitable organizations throughout Cheyenne, including the Jim Rauzi Memorial Scholarship Fund at Laramie County Community College, the Military Family Assistance Fund, and the Boys and Girls Club of Cheyenne, The Wyoming Coalition for the Homeless, K9’s for Mobility and the Cheyenne Therapeutic Equestrian Center. This year’s proceeds will benefit Family Promise of Cheyenne.
